Emily Vikre is a native Duluthian who holds a PhD in food policy and behavioral theory from Tufts University. She is co-founder and co-owner of Vikre Distillery, which has been named best craft specialty spirits distillery by USA Today. The distillery has also won a slew of technical awards: a gold and five silvers at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition; gold, silver, and bronze awards from the American Craft Distiller’s Association; silvers and bronze from the American Distilling Institute; and two Good Food awards. Wini Moranville has worked as a food writer and editor for twenty-five years. She is the author of The Little Women Cookbook, released fall of 2019, and The Bonne Femme Cookbook: Simple, Splendid Food That French Women Cook Every Day. She has also contributed to many cooking magazines and websites, and has a particular passion for heirloom recipes and served as the researcher and writer for Test Kitchen Favorites, a book of best-loved Better Homes and Gardens recipes from 1928 to the early 2000s. Wini is also a published fiction writer and the author of The Record Player and Other Stories. A fan of both France and Louisa May Alcott, Wini’s next project is a travelogue that traces the author’s extensive journeys through France. When not traveling, she lives in Des Moines with her husband, David Wolf.
Nina Singto is the chef and owner of Nashville’s Thai Esane, where she brings popular Thai dishes and various other authentic Southeast Asian cuisine to life. Originally from Laos, Singto was taught by her grandmother not only how to cook, but about having a passion for food. When her family opened King Market in Antioch, she joined in to help. She was immediately drawn in by her love of the food and the people. In 2014, she decided to bring the food of King Market into Nashville, opening Thai Esane with a family member as a partner. Jim Hagy is the owner of Chef’s Market, which has been voted #1 caterer in Nashville and one of the area’s most popular restaurants. As the grandson of Norvin Hagy of the acclaimed Hagy’s Catfish Hotel Restaurant in Shiloh, Tenn., Jim followed in his grandfather’s footsteps by opening his own restaurant, Chef’s Market, in 1997. It was within the first week of opening that a guest asked Jim to cater, and the other half of the Chef’s Market business was born. Nearly 23 years later, Jim now serves 700 people per day in Chef’s Market’s restaurant and more than 200,000 people each year through catering. Madalyn Bendgen is an Assistant Editor and Food Stylist for Cuisine at Home magazine. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Culinary Science. During college she interned at Cuisine at Home, and it was then that she knew she wanted to work for a food magazine. Madalyn has held a variety of different positions at Cuisine from grocery shopper, to recipe developer, food stylist, writer, and editor. She’s also a mom to two girls who she hopes will someday share the same passion for food that she does.
Haley J. Wilson is a Senior Editor for Cuisine at Home Magazine. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Studio Art and holds a Culinary Arts degree from New England Culinary Institute. Haley started her culinary career not knowing what direction it would take her, but Cuisine at Home has been a perfect fit. She started as an intern, testing cookie recipes for Cuisine’s first Cookies book. From grocery shopping and back testing recipes to recipe development, editorial work, and photo shoots, Haley has made lifelong friends and learned more than she ever could have imagined. Outside of work, Haley is married with one daughter and three fur babies who keep her busy and happy.
Pamela Killeen is a Senior Editor at Cuisine at Home magazine. California born, New Jersey raised, Indiana educated, longtime NYC dweller, and former Madison Avenue ad exec, Pam changed her life 16 years ago. After pursuing her lifelong passion for food, she graduated from The French Culinary Institute, worked with Lidia Bastianich for three years, then left NYC for greener pastures, literally. She now lives and works in Des Moines, IA, as a food editor, where she’s able to marry her background in communication arts with her love of food and cooking. Her job entails both recipe development and testing as well as writing and editing articles, among other things – meaning she’s in the kitchen half the time and at her desk the other half. Pam enjoys kayaking, yoga, and Pilates, and has recently rekindled her interest in gardening, where she’s able to put all she harvests to use in her kitchen.
