Savory Cheese & Pastrami Waffles
Savory Cheese & Pastrami Waffles are a riff off of a pastrami and rye sandwich. But, since no sammie is complete without a special sauce, insert the Spicy Mustard-aise (you might find yourself making these waffles simply for the sauce!).

FOR THE SPICY MUSTARD-AISE:
Instructions
Whisk together flour, baking powder, caraway seeds, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
Whisk together buttermilk, butter, eggs, and sugar in a separate bowl; gently stir into flour mixture with a fork until most (but not all) of flour mixture is moistened. Fold in pastrami, Cheddar, Swiss, and minced scallions.
Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions, then coat with nonstick spray.
Add enough batter to center of iron to fill, about 1 cup, and cook until crisp and golden, 3–4 minutes; repeat with remaining batter. Serve waffles with Spicy Mustard-aise and scallions greens.
For the Spicy Mustard-aise
Whisk together mayonnaise, mustard, honey, and garlic powder until combined; season with salt and pepper.
