Test Kitchen Tip
To give flair to the turtles, drop the chocolate onto the caramel with a teaspoon, swirling it with the tip of the spoon as you lift it.
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Arrange pecans in clusters of 3, rounded sides up, on prepared baking sheet.
Melt caramels with water in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth.
Drop about ½ tsp. melted caramel in center of each pecan cluster; let stand until caramel cooled, about 20 minutes.
Microwave chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl on high power in 30 second intervals until chocolate is almost melted; stir until smooth.
Drop about 1 tsp. melted chocolate on top of each caramel center, swirling chocolate as you lift spoon.
Sprinkle salt or crushed pretzels over top of chocolate; let stand until chocolate is firm.
Store turtles in an airtight container at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.
