Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting excess extend over sides of pan.

Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl with a mixer at medium speed until fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes, stopping to scrape sides of bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.

Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating just until combined. Beat in 2 cups chocolate morsels. Press dough into bottom of prepared pan.

Bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, 30 to 35 minutes, loosely covering with foil after 20 minutes of baking to prevent excess browning. Immediately sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup chocolate morsels. Let cool completely in pan on a wire rack.

Remove from pan, using excess parchment as handles, and cut into bars. Sprinkle with peanut brittle just before serving.
