Pear-Fig Bars with almond streusel are about to become your new favorite cool-weather treat. But it’s the sweet, crunchy streusel that takes these bars over the top — it’s made with almond paste, a sweet almond confection that pairs nicely with pears.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
For the crust, pulse flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt in food processor until combined. Add butter and pulse to combine; press into prepared dish. Bake crust just until set, about 15 minutes.
For the filling, spread preserves evenly over crust. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and cardamon; toss with pears. Arrange pears over preserves.
For the streusel, pulse flour, sugar, almond paste, and butter in food processor until combined. Add almonds and pulse until combined. Sprinkle streusel over bars and bake until lightly browned, 35–40 minutes; cool completely before cutting into bars.
