Instructions
For the Smoked Bourbon
Preheat pellet grill to 180° or follow
manufacturer’s instructions to prepare
a pellet smoker tube (sold separately),
for cold smoking.
Pour 1 cup bourbon into a tempered glass
measuring cup; place in a cast-iron skillet.
Place skillet on grill rack; arrange ice around
cup. Smoke bourbon 45–60minutes, draining
water and adding more ice every 15 minutes.
Note: Smoking bourbon requires keeping
it cool with ice so only a little whiskey is lost
to evaporation.
For the Old Fashioned
Place sugar cube in an old-fashioned
glass. Dash cube with
bitters and water; muddle until
sugar cube is crushed and nearly
dissolved. Add ice and bourbon.
Garnish old fashioned with orange
peel and cocktail cherry.
