Who says a sandwich has to be packed with meat? Give these vegetarian hoagies a try and you won’t even ask “where’s the beef?” Even our most ardent meat eater on staff was overheard saying “this is really good!” With satisfying fillings like charred broccoli and red onion, gooey Cheddar, and pickled pepper rings, this stacked vegetarian sandwich reaches new culinary heights. There are many beliefs about where the name “hoagie” came from. One theory is that it was a sandwich so big that “you had to be a hog to eat it.”
