Combine cucumbers, onions,
and salt in a bowl; cover with ice
and let sit for 1 hour. Rinse and
drain cucumbers and onions.
Boil vinegar, granulated sugar,
brown sugar, mustard seeds,
celery seeds, pepper flakes,
and turmeric in a saucepan over
medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Pour vinegar mixture over
cucumbers and onions in a
large bowl or jar, submerging
them; chill at least 4 hours.
