Golden Fries with Mushrooms
If there’s anything that goes better with grilled steak than onions, it’s potatoes and mushrooms. Plus, you can prepare this easy side dish in a cast-iron skillet right alongside the steak on the grill.

Instructions
Preheat grill to medium-high.
Combine butter, parsley, and garlic in a large bowl.
Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet on grill. Add potatoes in a single layer and sauté, covered, without stirring, until golden around the edges, 3–5 minutes. Stir and continue sautéing until potatoes are golden and crisp, 7–10 minutes. Transfer potatoes to the butter mixture.
Add remaining 2 Tbsp. oil to skillet. Add mushrooms and sauté, without stirring, until golden around the edges, 3–5 minutes. Stir and continue sautéing until softened, 3–5 minutes. Add mushrooms to potatoes and toss in butter mixture; season with salt and pepper.
