Here’s a Delicious Recipe for Juicy Burgers at Your Next BBQ
Burgers are a fan favorite at every cookout. They are hearty, juicy, and rich in flavor. The great thing about a burger is that it is relatively easy and quick to make. A pro to making your own burgers as opposed to purchasing premade patties from the supermarket is that you can make them taste exactly how you like. You can also make them the size you and your guests will prefer, from sliders to thin and even, thick-sized patties. Another great plus is that they could be made on your stovetop or the grill for that perfectly seared hamburger. Here is an awesome recipe that will be sure to be a hit at your next BBQ!
INGREDIENTS
- Ground chuck: To get the juiciest burgers, we suggest that you use 80% lean meat and 20% fat
- Panko breadcrumbs: You can also use crushed crackers as an alternative since both serve as a way to bind the meat together to form a patty
- An egg: This helps the meat stay bonded together while maintaining the moisture of the meat
- Half a cup of milk: Using this helps in tenderizing the meat due to the enzymes within the milk
- Worcestershire sauce: This provides the meat with a savory flavor
- Salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and any other seasonings that you like to add to your taste
Once you have all your ingredients together, it’s time to get started!
DELICIOUS AT-HOME BURGER RECIPE
- First, get a bowl that can fit everything, gather all of your ingredients, put them in there, and start mixing them all together. Once combined thoroughly, make sure the mixture is smooth.
- Take out a baking sheet and line it with wax paper for you to place the patties on them. Depending on the size of the patty you are going for, portion out the meat slightly bigger than the buns you are using.
- Using a smash burger press, firmly press down on each patty until they are thick enough to your liking. If the patties are on the thicker side, it is recommended that you prevent them from puffing up during the cooking process by making a dent in the middle of it.
- Following that, preheat your skillet or grill between the temperatures of 350 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, fry or grill the patties. Depending on your cooking preferences, cooking time may vary. For a thick patty cooked to medium, you should fry or grill the patty for no more than five minutes on each side. The best patties are usually only flipped once or twice when cooking, so keep this in mind!
- Once they are finished, place them directly on the buns or set them aside until they are ready to be eaten!
PRO TIPS TO ELEVATE YOUR BURGER
- Dress up your burger! You can add cheese, ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, onions, BBQ sauce, you name it! So many toppings can take your burger to the next level, so have fun with it and make it your own! Our personal favorite way to enjoy a burger is to add cheese, ketchup, mayo, a slice of tomato, lettuce, and maybe some pickles if we’re in the mood for it!
- Don’t serve it all alone! Pair your burger with some delicious fries, whether they be classic french fries or sweet potato fries if you want to try something new.
