How to Clean Leeks
Leeks can be challenging to clean, especially if you want to keep the leek in tact. Use this tip to do both!
When using whole leeks, use this cleaning technique that gets the dirt out of the layers, but leaves the bulb intact. Make one cut 3" from the end of the bulb, all the way to the end of the green. Give leek a quarter roll and repeat the same cut—the greens look like a floppy mop. Hold bulb and swish the “mop” end in cold water to remove the dirt.
