How to Freeze Fresh Herbs to Reduce Waste

Recipes often call for only a few tablespoons of fresh herbs. Then the extra often go bad before getting used up. To avoid this, freeze herbs such as cilantro, tarragon, parsley, and sage (avoid freezing basil, it turns black). First rinse and thoroughly dry the herbs (they need to be completely dry before freezing). Spread chopped herbs on a plate and freeze. Once frozen, transfer the herbs to a resealabale bag and return to freezer until needed.
