How to Core Peppers
Learn how to remove the core and seeds and segment a pepper with these simple (and clean!) steps.
First, cut off the a small part of the top (stem side) using a sharp knife.
Then, turn the pepper upside down on its “head.” This gives you a flat surface so the pepper doesn’t wobble on the cutting board. Next, follow the natural “segments” of the pepper to cut wedges, slicing down both sides of each segment from top to bottom.
Pull the wedges away— the core and seeds stay together in the middle. All that’s left is to trim away any white membrane left behind on the wedges.
