How to Peel and Mince Ginger
We all know that ginger is fibrous, and can be tricky to peel and mince. Here's a tip to easily peel and mince ginger while leaving the fiber behind.
To mince ginger and also get rid of those annoying little fibers, first peel the amount you need with a vegetable peeler. Then pound the peeled ginger with the back of your knife blade until the pulp separates, leaving the threads behind. Now you’re ready to mince away!
NOTE: Ginger root keeps best when tightly wrapped and stored in the refrigerator with the skin on.
