How to Store Fresh Peaches
Make the most of peaches while they are at their peak in the season with these tips on how to ripen and store them.
Peaches are highly perishable, so only buy what you can eat within a few days, and store them at room temperature. Refrigeration diminishes their flavor.
But, if you come across more good peaches than you can eat in a few days, don’t pass them up. Store them in the fridge for three to five days, but let them come to room temp before eating.
If your peaches are a tad hard, store them in a brown paper bag at room temperature to soften. The bag traps the ethylene gas, naturally present in the fruit, speeding the softening.
