How to Carve a Melon Bowl
How To Carve A Melon Bowl
First, trim off the top and bottom 1/4 to 1/2 inch of a melon to make a stable base on both ends. Next, using a small knife, make zigzag cuts around the "equator" of the melon, pushing the knife blade all the way to the center.
Continue cutting around the melon all the way. To separate the halves, carefully pull them apart (you may need to re-cut in some spots). Scoop out the seeds and fill each "bowl" with Melon Salad.
